Calling Anthem youth actors:
The Musical Theatre of Anthem announced its holding open auditions for the production of “Be More Chill” for actors and actresses ages 14 to 18 starting Saturday, Oct. 1.
Musical Theatre of Anthem officials will hold preparation workshops from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 29. A second workshop will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, September 30, according to a press release.
The 90-minute sessions will be instructed on cold reads, acting technique, characterization, the press release said.
General auditions start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. Auditions will be held at 42201 N. 41st Drive, Suite B100, Anthem.
The production is about a teen who uses a tiny supercomputer who promises to bring him everything he desires most: a date with a girl he has his eye on.
Tuition and costume fee for this production is $325 for youth ages 14 to 18, with 10% sibling discount. Sibling discount on 2nd registration will be refunded via PayPal within 24 hours of payment received. Scholarships are available, the press release said.
