Museum of the West gets $250,000 infusion from Scottsdale

Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West will receive a $250,000 cash infusion from the city.

The Scottsdale City Council voted unanimously April 4 to approve the money, which will come from the city bed tax and be destined for expenses such as utilities, security, storage, insurance and equipment rentals.

“We are the West’s most western town, we hear it all the time, and this Smithsonian-affiliated museum is actually the only museum we have in our city that celebrates our western spirit and heritage,” Councilwoman Tammy Caputi said.
