Muriel M. O\'Connor

Muriel M. O'Connor, passed away September 8, 2018. She was born January 4,1923 in South Sioux City, NE to Fred and Elsie Miller.Muriel received a degree in music from Morningside College and taught music in public school as well as private piano and organ lessons at her home.She married her high school sweetheart, Jack O'Connor, in 1944. They raised their three sons in Omaha, NE, retiring to Sun City West, AZ in 1981.Muriel and Jack both enjoyed playing golf and often referred to their retirement home on the golf course in Sun City West as "paradise." Muriel gave up playing golf at age 90!Muriel also, enjoyed lawn bowling, music, gardening, books, playing bridge, following the Arizona Diamondbacks, and was a charter member of the church she loved, Lord of Life Lutheran. She volunteered for many years at the Lutheran Thrift Shop in Sun City.Muriel was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marvel Bailey; and her husband, Jack.She is survived by her sons: Brad (Barb) of Colorado, Marc of Colorado, and Kurt (Becky) of Indiana; and grandchildren: Kelly, Tucker, Ryan and Jamie.A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 29th at 10:30 A.M. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Sun City West, AZ.Memorial contributions may be made to: Lutheran Thrift Shop, 10615 W.
