A 50-acre multifamily development at the northeast corner of 64th Street and Mayo Boulevard was greenlit Thursday by the Phoenix Planning Commission.
The commission unanimously approved both a general plan amendment and a zoning change to allow for the development, which will have up to 1,400 units. City council will vote on final approval for the changes.
Building heights will be up to 90 feet for multifamily buildings — or 65 feet within 40 feet of Mayo Boulevard to the south — and up to 38 feet for the single-family attached units. At the maximum allowed 1,400 units, the density would be 27.25 units per acre.
