A motorcyclist is dead after hitting an SUV that was pulling out of a driveway, Phoenix police said.

The collision occurred about 2:30 p.m. Dec. 19 near 77th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road where police found Ricardo Fonseca, 25, suffering life-threatening injuries. He died later at a hospital, police said.

Detectives learned that Fonseca was riding his motorcycle west on Lower Buckeye Road when the SUV pulled out of a private drive. Fonseca was not able to stop his motorcycle and hit the SUV.

The woman driving the SUV stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
