No one was hurt, according to a release from the Buckeye Police Department.
The incident occurred about 12:30 a.m. on July 5. A Buckeye police officer was flagged down by a group of people in the area, and “a man explained to the officer that he was participating in a group motorcycle ride when another motorcycle rider began driving erratically, putting others in danger.
“When told to leave the group, the man says the suspect pulled a gun and fired multiple rounds at him before running into a nearby wash. The officer immediately moved everyone away from the area and called for additional officers,” the release stated.
Police searched the area with K9s, drones and tactical units, according to the release, and the suspect returned to the scene in an SUV “and yelled at the victim and witnesses."
Officers attempted to pull over the SUV, but the suspect sped away, taking off eastbound on Interstate 10, police said.
Detectives tracked the suspect to an apartment near 95th Avenue and Camelback in Glendale.
The suspect, identified as 42-year-old John Ramos, was seen walking out of the apartment. He was arrested without incident and booked into jail on several charges, including attempted second-degree murder, police said.
