Most city of Glendale services available July 4

The city of Glendale’s offices will be closed on the Fourth of July. However, many city facilities and services will be open for residents’ convenience and recreation on Independence Day.
City offices will be closed on July 4 but will reopen on July 5 and again, as usual, on July 7.
All residential garbage, recycling and bulk trash collection services will take place as usual on all regularly scheduled collection days throughout the holiday week. The Glendale Municipal Landfill and Solid Waste customer service office will be closed on July 4 in observance of the holiday.
On July 4, only GUS Bus One will be operational from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., following a Sunday schedule. GUS 2 and 3 will not be in service. There will be no same-day Microtransit service available.
ADA service will be provided based on a Sunday schedule. Those who require Microtransit service for July 4 need to make reservations.
Valley Metro bus and rail will follow Sunday schedules, with no Express or RAPID service running. Valley Metro customer service will be closed on the holiday. For trip planning, visit www.valleymetro.org or contact customer service at 602-253-5000.
Glendale public libraries will be closed on July 4 and will reopen at 10 a.m. on July 5.
The Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open on July 4, but airport administrative office will be closed. The airport terminal will be open during normal business hours.
Private terminal businesses will be closed during the holiday and weekend. The lobby and restrooms will be available.
The Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center, Glendale Adult Center, Glendale Community Center, O’Neil Recreation Center and Rose Lane Community Center will be closed July 4 and reopen July 5.
City of Glendale pools will be closed on July 4, while splash pads are open that day from noon to 7 p.m. City pools will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. and splash pads will be open from noon to 7 p.m. on July 5 and 6.
The city’s pools will be closed on July 7. Glendale’s splash pads from noon to 7 p.m. on that day.
