Police remove animals from Chandler home

Chandler police Friday night seized animals from a home near Pecos and Cooper roads, authorities said.

The Arizona Humane Society stated many of the animals need immediate medical attention.

The Chandler Police Department announced Wednesday that it was aware of a social media post alleging a case of animal abuse occurring in the city.

Police remove animals from Chandler home

Chandler police Friday night seized animals from a home near Pecos and Cooper roads, authorities said.

The Arizona Humane Society stated many of the animals need immediate medical attention.

The Chandler Police Department announced Wednesday that it was aware of a social media post alleging a case of animal abuse occurring in the city.

"In coordination with the Arizona Humane Society, we are taking all legal measures to ensure the animals are being provided appropriate care," department officials said in a release.

 "We are working with the rescue to ensure that she is actively seeking ongoing medical treatment for the dogs as well as actively seeking homes for them."

"If probable cause is found to justify the seizure of the animals, local ordinances and state law will allow for such action to occur," the department said earlier in the week
