Airlines have canceled or delayed 195 flights involving Sky Harbor Airport passengers as Tropical Storm Hilary moved into California and Mexico on Sunday afternoon.

As of  3 p.m. Aug. 20, Sky Harbor’s website showed 136 flights had been canceled and 59 delayed.

Hilary, no longer a hurricane, inundated streets across Mexico's arid Baja California on Sunday as the storm moved ashore carrying torrential rain into Southern California.

Forecasters said Hilary was the first tropical storm to hit Southern California in 84 years.

"The team at Phoenix Sky Harbor is closely monitoring the situation, but it’s always a good idea for travelers to check their flight status with their airline before coming to the airport," an airport spokesperson said.
