Peoria City Council unanimously approved an increase in multifamily units to the Vistancia commercial core, as well as the removal of two potential golf courses from the master plan.
The approval allows the developer to increase the overall maximum dwelling units from 10,500 to 12,000.
Councilmember Brad Shafer, who represents the Mesquite District where Vistancia is located, said that probably the most common question he gets from constituents is: When are we going to get high-end retail, chef-driven restaurants, health care, financial services, etc.?
