Youngtown looks to add more security layers

Officials ramping things up

It will get harder to break the law in Youngtown.

Town officials will ramp up their already tight security with additional technology and programs to continue to cut crime in the small community.

The town used to have its own police department, but eight years ago officials eliminated it in favor of contracting with Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for law enforcement. In the past two years, license plate reader cameras were installed and town officials contracted with two private security firms to add some enforcement capabilities.
