Months of excessive heat lead county to make changes to cooling centers

After record setting temperatures for June and July, the county is reaching out to both residents and visitors of cooling stations to see how they can reach more people and better serve the community.

The county’s Department of Public Health is seeking the public’s input to better connect people with life-saving resources.

County officials have an estimated 200 cooling centers operational around the Valley as temperatures have been between 90 and 110 degrees for the past few months.
