April showers have been absent in the Valley so far this month.
But forecasters say relief may be on the horizon heading into monsoon season this summer, according to Ted Whittlock, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
So far, this April has been the ninth-warmest on record as of April 15, the meteorologist said. On April 10, Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix saw its first 100-degree high, which tied the record high in both 1989 and 2018, according to the National Weather Service.
