Mockingbird Lane project revised

East sidewalk removed from proposal

Maricopa Association of Governments approved a Mockingbird Lane project scope modification request by the Town of Paradise Valley Oct. 11.

Mockingbird Lane improvements are from Lincoln Drive to McDonald Drive. For the project scope, The Town of Paradise Valley requested to remove the proposed sidewalk along the east side of Mockingbird Lane and install additional roadway improvements for pedestrians and bicyclists because the entire corridor is used by them.

The town conducted extensive public outreach – three public meetings and public comment at planning commission and town council. Residents requested the project focus on traffic calming measures and improving the existing pedestrian facilities in lieu of adding a sidewalk on the east side which would impact property owners.
