MLB families dig roots in Surprise

Players’ kids study at Freedom Traditional Academy

The city of Surprise and the Dysart Unified School District are big draws for some big leaguers.

Three different families currently working on the staff of the Texas Rangers at Surprise Stadium call Surprise and Freedom Traditional Academy, 16066 N. Parkview Place, home.

Activities in the community keep the families of Guilder Rodriguez, Jesus Delgado and Yanio Perez happy to live in a community close to the Texas Rangers minor league facility, as well as a school the students enjoy attending.
