Missing endangered Paradise Valley resident Laleah “Jo” Ebentier was located on April 15 in a deceased state, police officials say.

Ms. Ebentier was located in the backyard of a Paradise Valley residence at about 10:06 a.m.

The Paradise Valley Police Department wants to thank all those that participated in the search for Ms. Ebentier, a press release stated.

At this time, there are no signs of criminal activity, but detectives are working closely with the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.

A Silver Alert was issued for Ms. Ebentier after she was last seen on April 8. She was 84-years-old, suffered from dementia and was reported to have reduced mobility.

Following the Silver Alert, police officials announced they believed she may have received a courtesy ride from the area of 52nd Street and Doubletree Ranch Road in Paradise Valley.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a K9 search that brought their handler to the 5200 block of east Hatcher Road, which is one street north of Ms. Ebentier’s home on Doubletree Ranch Road.

At this location the search suddenly stopped, police say.

Due to this reason, it was believed she may have received a courtesy ride somewhere, police say.

The Department of Public Safety conducted an aerial search of the surrounding areas, which yielded negative results.

Officers and police volunteers conducted door-to-door searches include all washes and brown belts, yielding negative results.

Drone flight with forward-looking infrared camera was utilized and also yielded negative results.
