Milovanovic family brings wrongful death suit against Scottsdale

Husband, father killed while bicycling

In May 2020, Miodrag “Michael” Milovanovic Jr., was struck from behind by a motorist while riding his bicycle on Happy Valley Road — now the family seeks a $1.3 million settlement from the city of Scottsdale.

On Tuesday, March 29, Scottsdale City Council will be asked to adopt an agreement to settle lawsuit Milovanovic v. City of Scottsdale, which is currently pending in the Maricopa County Superior Court. The proposed settlement is $1.3 million, according to a city staff report, after recent mediation between the two parties failed to reach a mutually agreeable resolution.

Before the meeting begins, the City Council is scheduled to have a private meeting with city attorneys for legal advice, discussion and consultation regarding the ongoing Milovanovic litigation.
