If any school in a conference smaller than 6A is ready jump in and contend in the new boys and girls basketball open divisions, it is Millennium.
No current players were around then, but the Tigers were in 6A as recently as 2018. And both squads regularly face 6A, as well as top out of state competition.
In preparation for what they expect to be runs to the Open Division, the Tigers teams cranked up the dial on their June tournament competition. For boys coach Ty Amundsen, this meant throwing his young team into the fire at the PrimeTime tournament and one of the two marquee Section 7 brackets.
