'Art' Williams Sr., 91 SUN CITY - Millard Arthur ("Art") Williams Sr. passed away on May 14, 2015 after sustaining a fatal head injury in a fall at his home. Art was the son of Lillian and Millard Williams. Art was born and raised in New Jersey. Art met his wife to be, Maria Reese ("Marie"), when she was 14 and he was 16. After graduating Linden High School he joined the U.S. Navy. Art served in the Navy during WWII for 3.5 years including the Normandy and Southern France invasions and was honorably discharged as a Chief Petty Officer. After his service in the Navy, Art returned to Elizabeth, New Jersey. Marie and Art were married in 1947 and enjoyed a wonderful 65 years of marriage until Marie passed away in 2013. Art attended New York University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Art went to work for The Esso Company in NYC. After his father's death in 1954, Art took over the family business and turned it into a very successful construction company. After they married, Art and Marie built a home in Cranford, New Jersey where they raised their two children, Susan and Millard Arthur III ("Arthur"), and lived until their retirement. Art retired in 1980 and that year he and Marie moved to Sun City, Ariz. and resided for 35 years. Art and Marie have been very active participants and volunteers in the Sun City community and at Faith Presbyterian Church. They were members of the Sun City RV Club and traveled every summer for 18 years. During Art's time in Sun City, he was active in many volunteer activities including Habitat for humanity, various civil organizations, served as the Director of the Recreational Committee of Sun City, and was a member of the Lakeview Art Club and the Sun City Property Committee. Art served as an Elder at Faith Presbyterian Church and supervised and participated in many projects while a member. He lived a full, complete, giving, and satisfying life. Art is survived by his daughter Susan Mullen and her husband Dennis, his son Millard Arthur Williams III and his wife Gail, his grandchildren Lisa Culter and Bradley Culter, and his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Madhukar and her husband Anupum. A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church (16000 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City) on June 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. At a future date, Art's remains will be interned at Faith Presbyterian Church in the Memorial Garden.
