Mill, University intersection in Tempe closes for 4 days beginning Saturday

Construction will close the intersection of Mill Avenue and University Drive beginning early Saturday morning, and drivers will encounter detours in the area until early Wednesday.
The intersection will be shut 12:01 a.m. Aug. 3 and reopen 4 a.m. Aug. 7 for construction on the Downtown Mill Avenue Streetscape Project, according to a city release.

Construction will close the intersection of Mill Avenue and University Drive beginning early Saturday morning, and drivers will encounter detours in the area until early Wednesday.
The intersection will be shut 12:01 a.m. Aug. 3 and reopen 4 a.m. Aug. 7 for construction on the Downtown Mill Avenue Streetscape Project, according to a city release.
The following detours will be in place:
Westbound traffic on University Drive will be detoured at Rural Road.
Eastbound traffic on University Drive will be detoured at Priest Drive.
Northbound traffic on Mill Avenue will be detoured at Apache Boulevard/13th Street.
Southbound traffic on Mill Avenue will be detoured at Rio Salado Parkway.
Businesses will remain open during construction, city officials said.
