Microsoft opens first of three West Valley data centers

El Mirage center online, Goodyear sites in progress

The first of three Microsoft data centers planned for the West Valley went online Tuesday, June 15, in El Mirage, the company announced on its website.

The remaining two centers are being built in Goodyear, but the company didn’t say when it plans to bring them online.

They are expected to bring 100 jobs, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineer and IT technicians, to the West Valley and have an annual economic impact of $20 million.
