Move over, Paratransit and RideChoice. Surprise now has a new micro-transit option for the general public in the heart of the city.
City officials on Thursday officially unveiled the low-cost WeRIDE Surprise service, a two-year pilot program where people in the central part of the city and lower-income areas can travel to desired points across Surprise, including shopping, recreational activities and medical facilities.
“Micro-transit is really a buzz word right now in the industry,” Surprise Public Works Senior Management Analyst Kristen Taylor said.
