Michael J. Dubin

SUN CITY WEST - Michael J. Dubin was born in Queens, N.Y. on Sept. 28, 1938. He died on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at his home in Sun City West. Mike had a Master's Degree in Political Science and Government from Columbia University and taught high school history for 30 years in New York, where he was highly respected and loved by his students. After moving to Sun City West in 1996, he became a founding member of RISE where he was on the Board of Directors and taught until Feb. 2016. Many people in the Sun Cities and Surprise regularly attended his classes and enjoyed his sharp sense of humor as he made history come alive for them. Mike was a past president of the Northwest Valley Democrats and an officer or board member over the past ten years. He authored nine books on Presidential Elections, covering the 1800's to the mid-twentieth century. He was an avid stamp collector and loved to watch old movies. Mike was a boundless resource for interesting historical information and little known historical facts. He will be missed by his many students and friends. A memorial service celebrating Mike's life, will be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at the Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 Camino del Sol, Sun City West, AZ, 85375.
