Meyer: Thankful for new Glendale clinic

A note from Phoenix Children's CEO

The Thanksgiving season provides an opportunity to pause and reflect on 2023 and express our gratitude for an extraordinary year at Phoenix Children’s. We have many reasons to be thankful.

Among them, we celebrated a special milestone: Phoenix Children’s 40th anniversary. On Sept. 18, 1983, we opened our doors as a “hospital within a hospital” at Good Samaritan. In the years since, we have created nationally recognized programs, earned a host of clinical accreditations and accolades, recruited top physicians and researchers and built a large and integrated medical group to ensure high-quality, coordinated care delivery.

We have also become one of the nation’s fastest-growing pediatric health systems with more than 40 sites of service across the state. Last week, we opened a brand-new specialty clinic in Glendale, and next year, we’ll cut the ribbon at two new pediatric hospitals in the East and West Valleys.

For me personally, 2023 marks my 20th anniversary as President and CEO of Phoenix Children’s. I am humbled and grateful to reach this milestone and serve Arizona’s families alongside exceptional clinicians and dedicated administrators.

Most importantly, I am grateful for our mission-driven staff, the families who entrust us with their children’s care and friends and partners like you who make this work possible, today and for years to come.
