Mesa to spend $600K on police, public safety supplies

The Mesa City Council recently voted 6-0 to approve a major increase in spending for police and public safety supplies, tripling the contract limit to $600,000.

The council also approved buying 200 new ballistic helmets for Mesa Police at a cost of about $102,000. The helmets will go to new officers and replace older ones that are no longer safe to use.

Councilmember Rich Adams did not attend the March 9 meeting.
