Mesa police officers were involved in a shooting early Thursday morning at a home near the 900 block of South Pasadena where a 33-year-old man was injured, authorities said.
No officers were injured, police said.
The suspect was treated at the scene, was taken to a hospital, is stable and is expected to survive, police said.
Officers responded just after midnight Sept. 18, to a family fight call at a home.
The suspect came out of the home when officers arrived “and immediately pointed a gun at both officers. This is when the officer-involved shooting occurred,” according to a Mesa Police Department release.
Two officers fired their weapons during the incident, police said.
The Tempe Police Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting under the East Valley Critical Incident Response process.
Through the investigation on scene regarding the initial call for service, investigators determined probable cause exists for a domestic-violence-related charge. Once released from the hospital, the suspect will be booked into jail, police said.
