Mesa mental health provider suing AHCCCS over alleged Medicare fraud cover-up

A Mesa-based mental health provider and its founder are suing the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System over allegations of fraud cover-up and retaliation against a whistleblower.

John Kamau, who founded Arizona Integrated and TelePsychiatry and Telemedicine Services in 2018, lies front and center at the case against AHCCCS. His company provides telemedicine-based psychiatric care to patients.

Kamau alleges that AHCCCS did not seriously investigate his claims of fraudulent financial activity, but attempted to cover it up and retaliate against Kamau both legally and financially because he reported it.
