Posted

A man told Mesa police he opened a door to his home Friday morning and was shot in a leg.

Detectives were investigating the incident that occurred Friday, Oct. 21, at the Brook View Apartments near University Drive and Dobson Road.

Officers who first responded to the call administered first aid to the man until Mesa fire and medical personnel arrived.

The man who was shot told police someone knock on his door, and when he opened it, he was shot.

The man “has not been able to provide any other information on a possible suspect, but officers are on scene investigating,” police said late Friday morning.

There were no other injuries.
