Mesa historic preservation guidelines to be updated

Proposed text amendments to the Mesa city code relating to historic preservation — including adding language to emphasize that interiors of dwellings and buildings can be protected and recognized — will be the topic of a public meeting in November.

City staff and a consultant are to make a presentation and residents can make comments about changes to chapters 23 and 74 of title 11 of the city code at the meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in the lower council chambers, 57 E. First St.

It is to take the place of the Mesa Historic Preservation Board meeting generally held the first Tuesday of each month.
