The restoration of a home on North MacDonald, the reuse of a business on West Main Street and the work of a neighborhood committee are being celebrated with Mesa Historic Preservation Awards.
“On behalf of the entire historic preservation board we’d like to thank all of the award winners ... for their contributions in keeping the history of Mesa a vibrant part of our community,” Chair Brandon Benzing of the Mesa Historic Preservation Board said at the July 1 meeting of Mesa City Council.
The historic preservation awards are usually presented in-person at a City Council meeting but because of COVID-19 concerns the council chambers have been closed to the public and won’t be reopened until August.
