Mesa funeral home seeks crematory approval

Case one of 6 being heard by Mesa Board of Adjustment

A special-use permit to allow an accessory crematory for a funeral home at 7530 E. Main St. is one of six items to be discussed Wednesday by the Mesa Board of Adjustment. The board meets at 5 p.m. for a study session and 5:30 p.m. for a meeting April 7.

James Robinson is requesting a permit for an accessory crematory use at an existing funeral home in the limited commercial zoning district. It is in the Sun Valley Plaza shopping center on the northwest corner of Main Street and Sossaman Road, Planner Kellie Rorex said in a staff report.
