Mesa council introduces ordinances to lower speeds around 'heritage' neighborhood

City staff recommends reducing the speed limit from 35 mph to 30 mph on Mesa Drive between Bates Street and Lehi Road.

Also under consideration for a reduced speed limit is Horne between McKellips Road and Lehi Road.

The Mesa City Council on Monday introduced ordinances to reduce the speed limit on two sections of roads that go through the Lehi Heritage Neighborhood.

The ordinances apply to Mesa Drive between Bates Street and Lehi Road, as well as Horne between McKellips Road and Lehi Road.
