Mesa council approves private security extension for public facilities

The Mesa City Council recently approved a three-month extension and funding increase for a contract providing private security services across city facilities.

The city council unanimously passed the extension April 20 that will help provide security to the Mesa Arts Center, Mesa libraries, police facilities, 55 N. Center and City Hall.

The agreement with Allied Universal Security Services covers unarmed security, mobile patrol, employee shuttle services and security for city-hosted events.
