Mesa council approves $2.6M for new lighting, scoreboard budget for A’s

The Mesa City Council unanimously approved about $2.6 million more to be distributed in 2026 for lighting and scoreboard upgrades at the Athletics’ spring training facilities.

Nearly $900,000 will go toward replacing outdated lights at Hohokam Stadium and Fitch Park with new LED lights and lighting control systems.

City staff said the current lighting no longer meets professional and college baseball standards.
