$1.7M distributed in Mesa for CARES Act rental assistance program

Mesa residents seeking housing rental assistance to prevent evictions and foreclosures created because of the COVID-19 pandemic have received $1.7 million as of mid-November.

Eligible households were to receive assistance if they were unable to pay rent because of a reduction or loss of income, health and safety concern or a crisis event that could be supported with documentation.

The funds are from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act passed by Congress.
