Mesa Adjustment Board approves variance for tall shipping container

A variance allowing a detached accessory building — a shipping container — in a side yard at 1665 E. Glencove St. that exceeds eight feet in height was recently approved by the Mesa Adjustment Board.

The variance was approved in a 5-0 vote Jan. 6 of a consent agenda with other items.

The property in a residential RS-9 zoning district is owned by the Pearce Family Trust and the applicant is Russell Pearce, Staff Planner Charlotte Bridges said in a staff report document.
