Nothing went right for a frustrated Mercury team Saturday as they lost 99-68 to the Minnesota Lynx at Phoenix Suns Arena. The 31-point loss was the Mercury’s biggest margin in defeat since 2017. The team has lost six of its last eight.
“I’m just kind of speechless to be quite honest,” Mercury coach Sandy Brondello said after the game. “You know, we’ve got a lot of things to work out. It’s just disappointing, it’s embarrassing on our home court. We need to find how we want to play.”
Brondello said this was the type of loss where you “burn” the game tape and move on. She said it was a mental loss, that her team is better than it showed Saturday and it will have to decide what kind of team it’s going to be.
