Mercury fined $10k for skipping media interviews after losing Finals

Following Sunday’s season-ending loss in the WNBA Finals, the Mercury players chose to skip their required postgame media availability. The media had initially been told Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and Skylar Diggins-Smith would be the players made available before the team backed out.

The team, as expected, was fined $10,000 on Tuesday for skipping the availability.

Mercury coach Sandy Brondello and every player on the team spoke to the media Monday for the regular exit interviews after the end of a season.
