Mercado Village will go before Scottsdale City Council again

Controversial project has support of the DRB, planning commission

Scottsdale-based developer Caliber is taking a fourth run at getting the city council to rezone 6.64 acres near the intersection of 92nd Street and Shea Boulevard rezoned to make way for the controversial Mercado Village apartments.

While a date for council to consider the request has not yet been set, Caliber will be going into that meeting with blessings from the city’s development review board and planning commission.

The development review board voted 3-1 to recommend approval of the request on June 20 and the planning commission voted 4-2 to recommend approval during its July 10 meeting.
