Mental health counselors needed in America’s schools
We spend much of our tax money on counselors and drills in case of school shootings, you’d think maybe we could spend the money on qualified counselors in each school who did more than just counsel kids on which college to attend.
If there was an actual mental health counselor in the latest shooting in Wisconsin, when it was seen that the teenaged girl had problems she couldn’t cope with, she could have gotten help before she killed herself and others.
It could not only have saved horrible grief, but money as well. We might not be able to get weapons under control, but we could redirect money to mental health counselors instead of funding the aftermath of deaths from mentally confused kids.
