Sharon Gilbertson may have grown up and lived near or surrounded by the Pacific Ocean in California and Hawaii, but the desert’s own siren’s song eventually brought her to Southwest.
Gilbertson is an artist and author who makes her home in Florence’s Anthem area. She and her husband, Lyle, lived in Mesa until 2007, before moving to Florence to live a more relaxed lifestyle.
A former business owner, it was in Florence where Gilbertson blossomed as an artist and now designs and makes a variety of paintings, sculptures, and drums. She works in acrylic and leather rawhide under the moniker Art With Vision.
