If Cathy Adam had turned her back on Arizona it wouldn’t have been hard to blame her.
She first came to Florence from her hometown of New York City in the early aughts when she inherited her father’s home in Historic Downtown. Her plan was to fix the home and sell it. After all, her grandparents had been forced by the U.S. government into Japanese internment camps in Poston during World War II.
But while working on her inheritance she fell in love with the desert lifestyle. Perhaps even more important to Florence, she fell in love with the town and decided to leave the big city life she knew for the desert beauty and history of Florence.
