Name: Nikol Adamski
Town/neighborhood: Northeast Mesa
When and why I moved here: My parents moved here in 1979 from Michigan to escape the cold, for a better life and a fresh start. I’ve always lived in the East Valley and ended up in northeast Mesa to stay close to my family.
What I like most about living here: My entire family lives here. My neighborhood is conveniently located off the 202 highway, but it’s still secluded and there are great mountain views. I’ve stuck around because there are so many outdoor activities in the winter. During the heat of the summer, we’re just a short drive away from northern Arizona.
What I do: I’m a Realtor. For my day-to-day, that essentially means I build relationships with the families I’m helping buy and sell homes. I’m also the president of a local networking group, LeTip of Superstition Gateway. As president, I help local business owners with their public-speaking skills, pass referrals and build a support system as we navigate today’s business landscape.
What I like most about what I do: I love working with people and problem solving. I strengthen relationships with my clients and business partners by seeking to understand their challenges and working through the solutions.
Organizations I’m involved with: I’ve been a member of LeTip of Superstition Gateway for almost nine years. I was the fourth member to join the chapter and since then it’s grown to 17 members who are other local business owners. Our chapter is made up of professionals from many industries like health and wellness, finance, insurance, HVAC, interior design and more. We’re very serious about helping each other grow our businesses, but also have fun and have built a second family. I encourage anyone in our community to check out their local chapter by visiting letip.com.
My tips for building better business relationships: This is what I tell all my new members in LeTip: it takes time to build a strong relationship that will result in business referrals so be patient. It helps to think about how you can help others and your clients and less about what you can get out of it.
Changes I believe have had a positive impact on our community: I like how we have a bigger sports team presence, better restaurants and more outdoor activities for the kids. Overall, there are more spaces for us to get to know our neighbors and build a community.
Favorite community cause & why: Through Rescue A Golden of Arizona, I rescued my golden retriever from the streets of Istanbul. His resilience is really inspiring to me. I’m currently training him so he can help people who may have faced traumatic experiences, such as domestic violence.
My family: I am blessed to have my parents, my brother and sister close by. I also have two amazing daughters, 17 and 20 years old.
My interests and hobbies: Spending time with my daughters is my favorite thing to do. We love to shop and get our nails done together. We also love to travel together; last summer we went to Hawaii.
The trait(s) I admire in others: I admire those with humility, someone that has learned from difficult experiences and has the heart to share them so others can learn from them. I also admire people with confidence and authenticity.
People who inspired me (and how): My parents, Al and Denise, instilled a great work ethic in me and my siblings. They gave us so much so that we could have the best life possible.
My guiding philosophy: I’m all about self-care and self-love. You can’t take care of others until you’ve taken care of yourself.
