The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is working on catching more speeders in Sun City West, using an unmarked car to better patrol the area.
What the data over the past three months said, however, is that most of the speeders caught are not people from outside the community.
MCSO’s Criminal Analysis Unit reported more than 150 traffic stops from May through July in the community. Deputies currently are using a “ghost car” — a white Ford Mustang — to patrol the area, according to Capt. Brian Stutsman, MCSO District 3.
