McDowell Sonoran Conservancy shares hope for further preservation efforts

Work to be done includes education, research and volunteers

The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, responsible for “championing the sustainability of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve,” presented to Scottsdale leaders its latest data on work completed to maintain the land in the future.

Justin Owen, CEO of the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, delivered a presentation during the Scottsdale City Council meeting on Sept. 13, providing an update about the work they’ve done on the preserve in the last fiscal year.

“While our work today makes impacts far beyond the preserve itself, the preserve is today, and always will be, at the core of what we do,” Owen said at the meeting. “We're extremely proud to be the trusted guardian of the preserve and look forward to continuing that work for many generations to come.”
