I have been in the rental business for over 30 years and have also managed HOA communities here in Arizona for 15 years.
I believe this new law is absolutely necessary. Being part of both industries, I have seen each side of this controversial topic.
I live in a nice area in Queen Creek and would not want to live next door to a short-term rental where I have no way to manage issues that arise with short term renters that don’t care about me or my neighborhood. The owner of that property should be accountable for what happens at their home.
There are many people, including myself, who enjoy using short term rentals, and respect their temporary neighbors, but it’s always those thoughtless people that cause the problems and thus the necessity of a new law.
A good law, and one I am glad to see QC support so we get ahead of the game.
