Mayor: Tempe police investigate antisemitic hate crime
Tempe Mayor Corey Woods said police are working to find who left antisemitic flyers in front yards and on doorsteps of homes southwest of downtown.
The flyers “contained disgusting, bigoted rhetoric” and were placed into plastic bags with stones to prevent them from blowing away, the mayor said on his social media account on Friday, Oct. 21.
Woods said the Tempe Police Department’s Hate Crimes Unit wants to hear from households that received the flyers. Call 480-350-8311.

“On occasion in this country, we see news reports about cowards who step out of the shadows to release their harbored hatred in the public sphere,” Woods wrote.
“Whether their intolerable expressions take the form of graffiti, printed materials or something else, they are jarring, offensive and most of all totally unacceptable.
