Mayor successful in getting SROs to cover all schools in Peoria Unified

New school year to see police presence at all district schools

The presence of police officers at all Peoria Unified schools is about to take a jump.

The district has had school resource officers at each of its seven high schools and a presence at some elementary schools thanks to partnerships with the Peoria and Glendale police departments. But the district will now expand its coverage to all its remaining elementary schools, thanks to Mayor Jason Beck and the city of Peoria.

The city council recently approved agreements that will fund the remainder of the officers.
