Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky called council members “ignorant,” who would not give her time to negotiate a possible deal with HonorHealth to buy 1.7 acres near Second Street and Drinkwater Boulevard for a controversial garage in Old Town.
Councilmember Jan Dubauskas said back in February 2025 that HonorHealth was not interested in selling the land and hence the council voted down her request for more time to negotiate a deal.
Now Borowsky says it’s clear HonorHealth was willing to sell the land because they did to developer Empire Group in October.
