Mastro family of restaurants stand and deliver during the time of COVID-19 pandemic

Despite shaken industry spirit of philanthropy triumphs

Despite the catastrophic effect the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the Arizona restaurant industry, the Mastro family — the culinary minds behind several of Phoenix’s finest eateries — is still finding ways to give back.

Two women spearheading legacy philanthropic endeavors say they remain stunned by an act of generosity that took place Tuesday, Dec. 22.

The restaurant concepts Steak 44, Ocean 44, and Dominick’s Steakhouse presented more than $64,000 in funds raised going directly toward research at the American Heart Association through the Phoenix Heart Ball, The Phoenix Women’s Board of the Steele Children’s Research Center, and Make-A-Wish Arizona.
